HIS EAST S.R. Ltd. is a company founded by the Swiss HIS Foundation, which belongs to the Schöni family of entrepreneurs. Schöni is a large Swiss holding company with more than 1000 employees in Switzerland, Italy and Slovakia.
Schöni Food started its activities in 1920 in Switzerland, producing pickled cabbage in industrial quantities. The company is a pioneer in organic production and is constantly expanding its product range.
Schöni is recognized as a ‘national quality brand’ and its produce can be found on the shelves of all Swiss shops.
Since 1969, the company has been developing its transport and logistics business Schöni Transport AG. It has become the largest operator in the Swiss and Italian markets, with a fleet of thousands of vehicles for transporting all types of cargo – from timber to refrigerators, with large logistics centres and hubs. Schöni Transport AG is actively contributing to environmental protection by purchasing liquefied gas transport trucks, which run 100% on biodiesel.
By launching the activity of His East Ltd in the Republic of Moldova, the HIS Foundation opens new opportunities for agricultural producers in southern Moldova, which will have a reliable buyer and the security of marketing and expanding production. The emergence of such projects contributes to the development of parallel investments, when chains of local entrepreneurs are connected around a foreign investor and consolidate their existing businesses.
